I am wondering if there is a few people wondering what happened to me, but the ablation process went fine. The is some soreness in my groin, though. The reason that I have not been in contact with anyone is because my friends here in Ames have kept me busy.
The procedure was kind of interesting. When it was time to go into the operating room, the anesthesiologist came and got me. After a short discussion, to make me feel conferrable, he pushed me down a long hall like 400 feet to the operating room. Once int the room, it was peeled with about five people. There is a secondary room, where the technicians monitor the procedure. The room was fill with all sorts of technical equipment, with the doctors monitoring like five computer screens. As came into the room, they introduced themselves, and then they stated that they would quiz me on their names when I woke up. Once I was in the room, they moved me on to the surgical bed. Then they had me sit up and they installed forty monitoring patches on my body. I had to ask them if they used all of them, and they ensured me that they did. Then they put me a sleep and I woke up being pushed back to the recovery room. The doctor came in and stated that the procedure was successful.
On Friday, a friend of mine left Ames to come and be there for me after the procedure. Although we spent more time in the hospital that was required, the nurse practitioner wanted to ack the doctor a question before I was release. After the question was answered, I was released. We then had supper and visited until bedtime. On Saturday, we drove to Ames, where I rented a hotel room and spent time with my friends.
My friend has been helpful, since the doctors do not want me to pick anything heavier than five to ten pounds, since they do not want me to apply any unneeded stress on my groin area. To me, the groin area looks fine, but the bandages have left a few spots where there is blood under the skin, and I am sure that the body will absorb the blood in those areas. Therefore, regarding my lifting, my friend is handling my suitcase for me. This has been a big help in my recovery.
I am thinking that I will try to visit friends tomorrow and maybe stay in Dubuque over night, but I will have to see what happens.
I owe my friends here in Ames a debt of gratitude, since they have been wonderful in helping me recover.
