Journal Entry – Travel to Rochester

To get ready for my ablation procedure on Friday, I drove up to Rochester today. Since I left in the late morning, I traveled through Iowa, since I had the time.

The fall colors are a little hard to describe at this time, and I would guess that the weather has made the difference. When I started out, the sun was out and the sun’s rays were bring out the fall colors. After about an hour, it clouded up and the rest of the trip was overcast. There are selected tress that are showing there colors, but most of the tress were still green. Also, since it appears that there has been strong winds, some of the leaves are already down. Therefore, regarding the weather, the leaves are kind of a mixed bag of colors.

The farmers were in the field and the corps look ripe, since there are brown in color. As with any year, the beans are coming out first, and with the amount of dust coming off of the combines the beans have to be dry. They are just starting to combine the corn. However, with the rains that we have had, I watching to see if there was any mud or equipment stuck. Since it seems like they are mainly working the high ground, I did not see that they are having any difficulties getting the crops out, With more rain coming in tomorrow, we will have to see how it gos for them.

Although it seems like the price of gas and diesel is coming down, the price is still high and it will be interesting to see how these high cost will affect the framer’s income this year. As a side note, with my full sized pick up, I was get in a 50 mile stretch up 25 miles per gallon. That is not too bad.

In the morning I have a CT scan, blood tests, ECG, and a visit with a doctor’s appointment all before 2:00. Some time tomorrow they will send me the time for my ablation procedure. With my heart beating over 150 beats per minute at three different times. I am ready for this procedure, and I hope that they can get this high beats per minute under control;

Roger
