Journal Entry – My Health VII

At 5:00 yesterday, I was told that I could go hime after spending the full day just waiting. Waiting for what? I do not know. The part that is so difficult to understand is that after my heart was shocked on Monday not doctor or medical staff came in to tell me about my medical procedure. I only found out information from the nurses and I was sent their notes. I do not like St. Luke’s and I hope that I never have to go back to this hospital, again . They have called me for an ablation procedure, but, during my stay, I was texting the Mayo Clinic constantly. I have an appointment with the Mayo Clinic on August 7, so much for St. Luke’s. I was told today that St Lukes preformed the second heart transplant in the world. If they were that good in the late 1960s, they surly lost patient care since then.

Mayo Clinic is run by philanthropy, and one of the areas that people can designate their funds given to the clinic is patient care. Not only do they have training in patient care but they are looking for ways to improve patient care. They have also gone through ways to improve food service to provide a better atmosphere for the patents. After eating none appetizing food, I am ready to drive to the Mayo Clinic for my health concerns.

When I called my brother-in-law to come and pick me up at 5:00, he used his GPS and traveled to St. Luke’s in Racine. As an engineer, I have made more mistakes using GPS than I ever did using a simple map. This added another forty-five minutes getting home. We had a directional issue getting to the interstate that cost us a few minutes. It was just before 9:00 when we got to Fort Atkinson to pick up my pick-up. With it being so hot, I rented a hotel in Elkhorn for the night by using my points. It was just before 10:00 when I got to Elkhorn. Since I had not had supper yet, I went to Culvert’s for a Cod Fish sandwich which I eat at the hotel. It was so nice to be in a comfortable bed without any noise or people coming in all night long. I slept like a rock.

After finding hard to wait all day long, it then became a rush to get to the hotel for a good night’s sleep which I got. Maybe I am getting old, or maybe I never like these late ventures, but I do not like getting into a hotel at the time in the evening.
