Journal Entry – My Health VI

This has been a long day, but I am not as tired as I have been since I have been here. Or, even Fort Atkinson. The patient care here is not the greatest here, since they do not keep us well informed. My procedure was scheduled for 10:30 this morning.

Then we heard that it was at 9:00 and 11:00, so we hurried and got me ready for 9:00 complete with shower. After setting around until 10:00, we found out that it was going to be at 11:00. The communications here is just tearable. When the men got in the room, they were not nice. I was sitting in a chair, and they state that I needed to get into the bed, if I wanted the procedure? Upond figuring out that they did not bring a bed, they ment the bed in the room.

They got me downstairs for the procedure, and they left me in the bed for the procedure and connected me to I do not know how many wires. The put me out and put a scope down my throat and determined that there was no blood clot in my heart. Then they shocked my heart once and the heart was back in rhythm. I remember seeing 11:05 and then 11:20 while they were moving my bed, so that was a short procedure.

All afternoon and evening there has been no doctor, so I guess that I will find out in the morning, I hope, when I am going home.

The patient care is tearable here. Even the doctors seem like they are bothered to spend a few minutes with us. At the Mayo Clinic, they have a program that people give thousands of dollars per year to find a way to improve patient care, since patient care as a priority of the Mayos. Even the food is horrible here. Mayo Clinic has put a program together to improve the food and food service. The US Navy has hired Nationally recognized chief to set up the kitchens and give the sailors good food. Therefore, why do they not have good food here?
