Deflection

Have you ever been introduced to someone and immediately forget get their name? For some of us, this is true. Most people might find this strange. After watching a video on this topic, it seems like those that forget name quickly are paying attention to the environment around them, and this would include not only details surrounding the environment but also the environment around the person that is being introduced; therefore, the forgetting the persons name is only an abstract piece of information when so much other information is being collected in the brain. When it comes down to it, the person that forgets names is usually intelligent.

If a new person is introduced in a social setting, then this type of person will remember detailed information like the location, the facility, the music that was played, the weather, and this list goes on and on. The same can be stated about the person, like the number of people that was around the location of the meeting, what everyone was wearing, what the person was wearing and, again, the list goes on and on. They will also remember the event that was taking place by detail, like what was being celebrated, what the decorations were, and the list goes on and on. But when it comes to something like an abstract name, it is hard to remember. This does not mean that the person is not intelligent, but it might mean that they are intelligent with them remembering so much detail about the meeting.

If the person that forgets names is grossly interested in the person or what the person represents, then they will remember their name, since the name is no longer abstract but an important detail.

When a person that forgets names is in a group setting, they will probably look for some else that is concentrated on the details, and that becomes the bases of their meeting. This type of person is not interested in being around shallow people.

For those that are interested in the details, they probably have a long term memory. If this type of person is deeply interested in the details, they are not willing to lose the memory of these details.

These types of people probably have a photo memory, since they can remember location and images very will. As for most people, they are amazed with someone having that good of a memory.

When this type of person takes in similar memories, it keeps the memory on this type of topic alive and stimulates other similar topics in the brain. If there brain is not stimulated on a topic, then all items associated assoicated the topic become forgotten over time.

They probably have a huge data base in their brain that gives them the option of thinking creative. With this large of a data base, they probably scare most people that are thinking more linearly, since the person thinking linearly cannot comprehend that a creative person has look deeply into the good and bad scenarios. The truth is that a deeply thinking creative person has looked at all options before ever stating what they are thinking.

This type of intelligent person probably had a hard time in school, especially grade school. The probably had a hard time spelling words, since words are just as abstract as people’s names. Instead of concentrating on spelling words, they are concentrated on the school room, their friends, the teacher, and the social dynamics. The school environment is a big problem for these type of students, since they are extremely bored. They do better with one to one teaching, although there are many topics that they strive on in the classroom. Furthermore, the student will probably have a hard time spelling words their whole life.

Robert Einstein suffered in the classroom, and he had to restudy the areas that he was not fond of to pass the acceptance exam to get into college. Some time during his career, he stated that the classroom was not the best way of teaching in the early grades. With these being the words of an intelligent person, it seems like those with an average intelligence seems to get through the class room better that an intelligent person. This means that bored highly intelligent students in school do not go on to higher education by the make up of the current education system. This is something to think about.

The next time someone forgets your name in a matter of seconds just remember that they maybe more intelligent then you are thinking. It is just that they are thinking differently than you are at that moment. Since they are taking on the environment around the location of the meeting, they will probably remember the meeting better then you will over time. Just be patient with them.
