Currently, I am at ORD (Orchard Airport). For those that are not aware of O’Hare”s indemnification, O’Hare was an Orchard before it was an airport. It is like Two Star General Jimmy Stuart getting his pilot’s license miles out of Los Angeles at LAX. Just a little history.
I got up at 6:00 this morning, and I continued to put things together for my trip. I went on line and it stated that I need 3.5 hour to get through security, so I planned to get here 4.2 hours early. So, at 9:00 dad came to my trailer and state that he was ready to go, but I was going to be ready at 9:10. So, in my hurry to get with dad, I did not get my billfold out of the pants that I ware yesterday. We. got about 85 percent of our way to the bus stop, I noticed that I did not have my billfold. So, we had to go back to home to get the billfold, and I missed the 10:00 bus, but I would have 3.2 hours to get through security with the next bus We got to the bus station and I took the 11:00 bus. To my surprise, I got through the ticket gat and security in 30 minutes and now I still have one hour before boarding.
I have to state that my 93-year-old dad took me to the airport, and he is still driving at his age. On our trip to the bus station, from Whitewater to Janesville, he pull a trailer with a full sized pickup truck. He has loss the sight in his left eye, so he does have a problem with depth perception. Although this does reduce his driving to an average person, he sill driving every day and getting around just fine. He is proving that age is just a number. This is remarkable.
I pick up a hamburger now in a sit down restaurant so that I could type this Journal Entry to you. Considering I will be on plane for the rest of the day, this will be my only Journal Entry for today.
I hope that the rest of the day goes good.
Roger
