For many weeks, I have been planing a trip to Scotland using my Hilton points. So, there is no cost for the resort. Since I am a member of Delta Airlines, I am receiving good benefits for the flight. Tomorrow, at 9:00, I leave for Whitewater. After a few negative issues today that will cost me more money, I am hoping that things will go better.
I was going to use my Hilton points for three different tour, but I found out today that Scotland tour companies will not accept Hilton points. Since I was going to be taking these tour, the resort recommended that I use a taxi service to get around, since most people from the USA have a hard time driving in the other lane of traffic. When I found out that it was going to cost me $100 to get from the airport to the resort, I tried to use Hilton points to rent a car, but there are no cars available. This has not been my day.
Delta Airline contacted me electronically, and everything on my flight is a go, including my passport being verified for the trip. Since I am to be at the airport 3.5 hours before the plane departs and a 1.5-hour layover in Amsterdam, it seems like I will have down time. Since I am taking my computer with me, I will be giving Journal Entry often, and that includes at the airport when I have nothing better to do.
I started packing my suitcase this evening, and everything is going better in my suitcase than I expected, so it seems like this part of the trip is coming together. As for my carry on, it will only be my computer and my I Pad, so there is no need to bring attention to the officials when I go through security and customs. As for my suitcase, I went through it this evening and removed any thing that I do not need, since I am determined not to bring attention to myself.
Since this is really my first time traveling over seas, so this is a big learning experience for me, and I am looking forward to experience. If this works out for me, I can see myself traveling like this ofter. I am finding that traveling over seas using the Delta App is making my trip easy. If the does work out for me, I would hope to do it more often.
From what I am seeing of the Aberdeen area, it seems like an area that I am really going to enjoy. There are like 90 trails in the area of the resort, and the tours really seem to be good. Since I will be about 10 miles from Balmoral Castle, the summer get away for Queen Elisabeth, the terrain will be enjoyable to be around. From the feed back that I have received, this is the start of a good time to be in Scotland, but the highs will be in the 50s with cloudy weather. I will just have to see how things work out.
Therefore, you can expect Journal Entry up dates often. It is now time for me
Roger
