Deflection

It is Veterans Day and it is starting to feel like November. There was a cold front come in early this morning and the temperatures have dropped. The low tonight will be 29 degrees. As with November, I have heard that it has more overcast days than any other month of the year and maybe that is true, since it was mostly cloudy today.

The American Legion is not as active here in Whitewater as compared to other cities and this can be seen with the disposal of the American Legion Building. It was a nice building for events, but the revenue stopped coming in to the Legion. So, for Veterans Day, there was a program at Fairhaven Nursing Home. With some of the residents in attendance, there was a nice small program.

I have been fighting headaches and a tooth ache for the past couple of weeks. Yesterday, for the second time, I went back to the dentist to have a tooth filled in July ground down. Two weeks ago, I when to the dentist with the tooth ache and they ground down one of my lower crowns. Although the grinding did get rid of the shooting rain in the lower tooth, there was still pain in my upper tooth. Now, with an older dentist with more experience, he started tapping on each of my teeth with the back of the mirror that they use all the time to look at our teeth. As soon as he hit the upper tooth, the second one from the back, I felt the pain. He then started removing the excess filling. It was hurt for me to move my teeth around with the marking paper, he kept grinding until there was clearance between the teeth. The he put his equipment away and looked me right in the eyes. Since it has been since July the week before I left Cedar Rapids since I had the tooth filled, he was concerned that I had waited too long and had killed the nerve. But, since the tooth pain has decreased since I was there yesterday, it seems like I got around this issue of a dead nerve. Or, at least, I hope so. But is was a different experience having a dentist talk so direct to me.

So, regarding he pain that I have been in, I have not been sleeping well. Therefore, I have not been writing much. So, I guess that I am not going to be writing much tonight. But, with my tooth feeling better, I am feel that I can write more.
