Stranded – Ended

Late this morning, I moved back into my trailer. It did warm up to 47 degrees today, with the low being 33 degrees tonight, so the furnace will not work too hard to night. The main road not snow covered, but the back roads and streets are still snow coved.

Yesterday, I traveled east of Lubbock and I photographed a steel house that looks out over Ransom Canyon. Yes, this area is as flat as a pancake, but the water has to ruin some place like this deep canyon that has been here thousands of years. And, the house is 100 percent steel, as I could see from the outside. Since it was posted, I did not even try to look in the house through the windows. The house looked like it was, currently, not lived in. By the design of the house, I am not sure what it would be like to live in over time, and the house is small.

Tomorrow, I am leaving Levelland. I am driving to Hords creek Lake that is just over 200 miles from here. Not too face of a drive. I like these shorter drive when I am pulling the trailer, since I do not have to worry about set up my trailer this time of the year before the sun goes down. Furthermore, I can take the time to appreciate the area and make a few stops, like a museum.

I am hoping that by moving southeast I will get closer to the Gulf of America and it will be warmer. It is not that I have anything against being in the snow and cold weather, except in a trailer. Alway have to worry about having enough gas and the furnace working.

It will be nice to be back in a park, again, with a view and hiking trails. This boring trailer park that is basically a level area of gravel has gotten to be boring, but the price was right at about $13 per night.

Tomorrow is another day.
