I know that I have been quiet, but there has been lot going on in my life, Some I can write about, and some that I cannot write about, but I will take some time to write about what I can write about.
I am 28 miles north of Charleston, South Carolina. The ocean is not a big sandy beach like we all think that it is in the mid-west. I have been here for three days. The first day I had to two video conferences with two Mayo Clinic Doctors. The second day I had to move my trailer to a different lot, and talk with my pastor. Yesterday and today, I was in Charleston taking in history.
Around November first, I got to coughing so bad that I put my heart into an arthritic flutter, and then I had a sinus infection. When I went to urgent care in Whitewater with my heart rate over 120 beats per minute, they called the ambulance to take me to the Fort Atkinson hospital. By using giving my IVs, they were able to get my heart rate under control. But, on the following Monday, my heart rate was high. For two days, the Fort Atkinson Hospital tried to get my heart rate under control, but they could not, and I was transferred to St Lukes in Milwaukee. On Thursday, they got my heart rate under control and I was released on Saturday,
I am part of the Mayo Clinic exclusive program. When I went to the hospital November 4 emergency services, the doctor sent a copy of my report to the Mayo Clinic. At 10:00 the next day, I received a call from the Mayo Clinic Doctor that I am working with. He told me if these was a need for follow up medical services, I could come to the Mayo Clinic. Since thing are slow around St Lukes hospital and they wanted me to return about three times, I opted to drive up to the Mayo Clinic on Wednesday, November 26 to have six appointments from 7:00 to 1:00. Unfortunately one of the appointments was to place a heart monitor on my chest for 24 hours, so I was unable to see a cardiologist.
Since there was a cancellation in the Department of Cardiology on Wednesday, I was able to talk to the cardiologist. After reviewing all of my results, he really was not that concern that I need to have treatment any time soon, but in a month they want me to go in the hospital for a drug treatment, This does not have to be done at the Mayo Clinic. So, I am working on getting this arranged.
As physically active as I have been, I feel that I will come out of this without any major problems. I have been walking/hiking a minimum of 30 minutes a day and often more than that. Since I have been released, I am able to get in as much walking/hiking was I was before this cough. As for me, I am looking to carry on as I have been.
Since I have been typing for an hour, I am going to call it a night., but I will continue with my writing. Tomorrow I am moving about 200 miles to the west north of Augusta. My intent is to travel to Texas.
