Journal Entry – If you do not like the weather, just wait an hour

The weather this morning was oppressive. By the time that I finished my walk at 9:00, it was 82 degrees. I then finished the morning by packing for my trip to Green Bay for the Department (State) American Legion Meeting. As I was driving north, I noticed that the temperature was 88 degrees. About two thirds of the way to my destination, a front was coming in. It was basically a light rain during the last third of the drive. Then I noticed the temperature. By the time that I got to Green Bay, it was 74 degrees. That is a drop of 14 degrees in an hour.

At 6:00 when I walked down the street for supper, the winds were blowing at 13 mph with gust up to 21 mph. When I walked between the buildings, the cold guts took my breath away (not really, but it sounds good). What a change is weather.

And, to think of it, I just brought short sleeve shirts with me, since the weather has been in the upper 80s for weeks, These are the highs for the next four days: 73, 76, 76, and 75. With the lows being: 52, 61, 60, and 61. Do not take me wrong, I love these temperatures, but why did I not bring something with long sleeves. I looked at my light jacket before I left, but I had no idea that it was going to be this cool. If I look hard enough, I might have to buy something.

The convention starts at 7:00 in the morning, but my legislative meeting is from 11:00 to 1:00. I am thinking that I will go to the home land security meeting at 9:00. These convention do have lots of down time, so it is nice to have my hotel next to the convention center.

More tomorrow evening.
