Today, I woke up with geese honking around my trailer, and I still had the beautiful view of the manmade lake. It was cloudy, with a breeze; so, I got out of there around 9:00 and expect a nice drive for today. But, some time after I got on the interstate, the winds came up to 15 mph with 25 mph gusts. To say the least, the driving was a little bit challenging for over the first hour. By the time I got to Effingham, it has stated to rain. Although the rain was hard at times, the winds were down to seven miles per hour. It was 4:00 when I got to Metropolis, and I set up the trailer between the rains. Although there are water puddles everywhere, it is to be a nice day tomorrow.
Yes. I am in the fictional home of superman, and tomorrow I go and find the statue. After I got the trailer set up, I when for my thirty minute walk, and I did find Fort Massac that was used by General George Rogers Clark, the older brother of William Clack and neighbors of Thomas Jefferson, during the Revolutionary War. Since I have studied the General and his movements during the war, I will enjoy spending time at the fort and visitors center tomorrow, and then I will travel in to the state of Kentucky.
