It was mostly overcast here at Porcupine Mountains State Park today. Since it was overcast, I did sleep late, with a late breakfast. As for the mooring, I stayed in the trailer and mostly read. Early this afternoon, I drove to the Lake of the Clouds, and the Lake of the clouds is between to escarpments in the Park. I then hiked two miles to the west on a difficult trail for two miles that took me an hour. The views there looking to the west are great, and the Carp River below the escarpment flowing from the Lake of the Clouds flows into Lake Superior. Unfortunately, since there was better leaf color last year, it was not the view that it could have been. That is the way that things are; just have to be at the right spot at the right time and have the equipment to take great photos.
There are no good places to go for an evening birthday supper around here, but I made the bast that I could by eating at a restaurant in Silver City. With the high winds that were here all day, Lake Superior had about three-foot waves this evening, so I took a few photos, but the photos were not like the ones from last year with the nine-foot waves. Again, just have to be at the right spot at the right time. So this is my birthday for this year.
