Here in Rochester it was raining all day with the high temperature at 58 degrees. Not really a nice day, but I was inside all day long.
When I looked at what the Mayo Clinic calls their portal on my I Pad this morning, it stated that I had 18 appointments in the next seven days. As I just looked at the schedule that they gave me, I had 10 appointments today. As the day wore on, and I am having problems waking up at 4:00 in the morning, I was extremely tired by 4:00 in the afternoon with a headache. My last appointment was with a cardiologist specializing in preventive heart care, I feel that I was not preforming very well.
From what I understand, the doctor that I have been seeing for almost twenty years here has now retired. Although I tried to get an appointment with him last year, he was suffering from a medical issue and I was unable to get an appointment with him. So, as I was trying to decide how to schedule my appointment with a doctor, they offered me this executive program, and it a thorough study of for personal health. My morning started with test and then a 9:00 I got to see the doctor that was running late. His appointment with me ran until after 11:00 and, by then, I was late for my treadmill test at 10:45, but I still got the appointment in. Then at 1:15 I meet with a psychotherapist to discuss my stress level that is high, based on the current events in my life. As I stated above, my last appointment was with a cardiologist and it looks like they will adjust my current medication for high blood pressure.
And now a change to relax for a few minutes, and, then tomorrow, it starts all over again at 7:00. More healthy living and health appointments. Coming here to Mayo Clinic is not about seeing the doctor; it is about getting an education on my health, and I surely will remember the education and not the doctor’s instructions, since the education includes the reason for the doctor’s instructions.
