Journal Entry

I just noticed that it was 88 degrees in Whitewater, and I am so happy to be here by Lake Superior were it 72 degrees. Okay, it was raining here and kept the temperature down.

I walk the Pancake Bay shore again this morning. So, I guess that I am into nerve stimulation. It seems to be working. But, tonight I am at Rabbit Blanket Provincial Park. Since it is basically a small lake, there is not much to do here but relax. The way that I have been pushing myself, it seems like a break is in order.

As I have found out, my trailer is bigger and heavier than I thought that it was when I bought it on the lot. It seems like I am really push down on the accelerator all the time. The gas milage goes from 22 mpg to 10 mpg. Today, it was quite hilly and there was times I was going up the climbing lane at forth miles per hour. The engine seem like it is really working. The pick up has 80,000 miles on it and it is six years old. With the coronavirus, I have been able to keep the milage low. It is still in great shape and I would like to keep it that way. I do feel that I am

One might state that the trailer is bigger than I need and they are probably correct. But, as I look at smaller trailers, the weight does not go down much, since much of the weight comes from things like the size of the fresh and waste water tanks. So, after looking a little closer at smaller trailers, I am not sure that I would gain much. But, even with the extra weight, I am still able to pull the trailer up to 65 mph.

Tomorrow’s trip is about two hundred miles. As someone told me, I need to keep my daily trips a little shorter that just driving. Today, was a good example. The highways up here in Canada are from fair to good, with only fair safety features like guardrails. The asphalt pavement is not always in a plain, including large depressions in the pavement. Therefore, coming down a major grade, it can be challenging. But the electric trailer brakes work real well. It is a little challenging, and I feel that I need to take breaks from time to time. The shorter distances traveled everyday does help.

I feel that it is time for a break, so I will see you tomorrow.
