Journal Entry

Since it rained last night, it was wet this morning. The high was 78 degrees, with rain again at 6:00. Although the rain is needed, it is not enough rain to make a difference in the drought.

Shortly after 7:00 this morning, my grandnephew Rylee came to spend the day with me. He is at a tough age, were her does not take direction well and he is totally addicted to the digital games and cartoons. But he is a loving kid. Once he is away from the digital stuff, he is a totally enjoyable kid to be around.

Mom keeps improving. Yesterday morning we suspected that she had changed her clothes in the morning, but this morning I did observe her before and after she changed her clothes, and, this afternoon, she changed her top, since the first one was not fitting well. It seems like this a a good time for mom.

I will be attending the Wisconsin American Legion Convention starting next Thursday. Since it is the middle of the summer, I have decided to travel on the Lake Superior trying to find a cool place. Today, I completed my campground reservations. Like I have stated before, it almost seem to be more daunting finding campgrounds than hotel rooms. By this time of the year, most of the camp sites are full, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. But I was able to make all of my reservations. Most of them have electricity. Since I am hoping that it will be cooler, I am hoping that I will not need the AC on to sleep, but the AC is so laud in the trailer that it almost keeps me awake all night any way. For some reason, I decided to go up along the east side of the lake, so, on the way back, I found the last two nights camp sites without electricity. Since they will not be close to Lake Superior, I hope that I will not be sweeting all night long, but the trailer has good crosswind ventilation in the bedroom. This means that I will be gone for 2.5 weeks. It will be interesting to see how this will workout with mom.

The rain seems to have dissipated for now.
