Journal Entry

It was partly cloudy today, with a cold wind blowing out of the North. The temperature was 56 degrees. Finally, it seems like fall is coming.

This morning I took mom to a group that the call Respite for the first time, and I did not know what to expect. Last night she was very cognitive before bed, but she got up in the middle of the night. As for what I saw, she was up since 5:30. When I took her up to the meeting, she was not as cognitive as she was the night before. When I dropped her off, they told me that they would contact me if she got over tired, but I did not receive a phone call until 3:30. From what I could tell, she played work games and did other social events. But this seems to be good for her, as she is around other people. Regarding a normal day, she comes around at 4:00 and want to go home. Although this items came be confusing when a caregiver first hears it, they are actually stating that they want to be around people, but his is not always practical. So, this Respite is good from mom, but it is only held every other week.

While mom was at Respite, I found a new trail to hike in the Kettle Moraine area that I feel that I will be using in the future. Well, I was actually on the Ice Age Trail.

Since mom got me up at 5:30, it seems like I am staining to write this entry.
