It was stated this morning that the temperature was goin to 89 degrees this morning, but it only got to 81 degrees. This might have had something to do with a front moving through this afternoon. Although there was major raining in Janesville, we only got the pavement wet.
My dad turned ninty years old today. There was a birthday party for him on Sunday, and it seems like to was the party of ninety year olds, with dad’s brother and wife being in their nineties. As for my grandfather, he died at the age of ninety-three. Since he fell on the concrete and buried his brain, he would have lived to be much older, since he was in good shape. Dad is still in good shape, and, as can be noted in January, he drove all the way to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and back. Therefore, longevity is in our family.
I have to record what it is like to go shopping with a five-year old. I was going in the grocery store to purchase supplies for an experiment for him, exploding bubbles. I need hydrogen peroxide, yeast, and food coloring. As we walk in the store, he ask if we need a cart and I said know. Since this was a store that I was not familiar with, I was looking for the baking goods, but when I looked back, the five-year old was not in sight. So, I walked back to the door and there he is with a shopping cart and loading it with candy. Now, I had a problem, since I did not know where he got the candy from and where to return it to on the display stand. After get the candy back, I proceeded to the baking goods and finally found the food coloring and yeast, but now he had filled the basket with cup cake fillers and more candy. So, I had to return all of those items. It was off the get the peroxide and he continued to fill the basket with candy. Although I got most of the candy back, I end up purchasing a couple of packs of candy. This kid will wear alone out, but he did enjoy the experiment. He is intelligent for his age and does enjoy science, but it is work getting to the point of performing the experiments for him. (There is nothing like being a grand uncle. His mom is printing these Journal Entries off for him, so I hope that he enjoys this on in twenty years.)
I called my cousin Bob tonight and my mom could not recognize his name or voice. This will give you an idea on how far her dementia has progressed.
