Journal Entry

The weather yesterday was back up to 87, but I did get my hike in at Morgan Creek Park before it was 75 degrees this morning. The high temperature today was 72 degrees and it is to remain more seasonable for the foreseeable future.

The news is that one million people in the United States has died do to the coronavirus, but the first reports on the coronavirus two years ago was that many people that were dying of the virus already had a major physical ailment. The question at the time was it correct to count someone that was already dying of something else. As this time, I am not sure that this issue ever got worked out, so I have to believe that it includes those that were terminally ill before contracting the virus.

I started this Journal Entry two years ago, just after the virus broke out, since it seemed like this would be a good event to document everyday. As I was starting to write this journal, the mother to my grand nephew stated that I should print them out so that he could read them when this period of time meant something to him, or at least he would be able to remember the type of person that I am. From the feedback that I have received, people do enjoy this type of documentation in these entries.

When they called this pandemic, I remembered my grandfather talking about the flu of 1919 that he lost a young sister to at the time. With this type of interest in a pandemic, I listened to two books on the 1919 Flu. From the Great Courses, I watch two DVD lectures, with one being on infectious diseases and the other one being of Mysteries of the Microscopic World. I read a book on blood type, and I had my DNA analyzed. I was amazed on how close the characteristics of my blood type match the DNA analysis. There was a comment that the it would be far easier to work with the blood type instead of the DNA. We will let others determine the answer to this question.

From the on set of the coronavirus, I was not concern if I got the virus, since I figured that I am healthy enough to live through the virus. But, since I have Type O blood, I have a natural amenity to the virus. From what I read, it goes back to where my ancestors came from. The Type O refers to people that lived in the country and not with a group of people. The meals were more meat, while other blood types ate more grain. This could have been seen in India’s with the number of people coming down with the virus, since most of the people have Type B blood.

Through this whole time period, I found the mask the most frustrating. Since people do not understand germs, they did not properly use the mask. To be blunt, germs can live on some surfaces for up to five days. So, we saw people putting their hands on the front face of the mask and wearing them day after day. As for me, I would put a paper mask on when I went in a building and throw it away as I walked out of the building, without touching the front face of the mask. I would liker to know how many people contracted the virus from poor mack etiquette, and I would like to know why the health care professional was not instructing people to use proper mask etiquette.

The politicians showed their true colors at the time of on set off the coronavirus. As we was on the news, there were some of the state governors that was trying to control every breath that their citizen made with restriction on daily life, from wearing a mask to restaurants closed, with oppressive executive orders. This is scary: we are land of the free and the brave and not the land of the oppressed by our government. We sent troops in World War II to stop regimes where this oppressive government was spreading through out the world and now this form of government is on our front door. How has the government gone so far back words since 1945? This is really concerning.

There was people with strong opinions about wearing a mask and protection from the virus. We had employees that would only come in after hours to pick up items, and with the mandatory telecommuting, they moved out of the office. I have no way of judging who these people or their feeling. But I felt the pressure from some individuals.

As stated above, this is the land of the free and the brave. If one thinks about things, every immigrant, our ancestors, that came to this country was taking a risk that they would survive. The citizens in this country know how to take risk. And, with some of the citizens reluctance to wear a mask, it become obvious that there are citizens that are willing to take the risk. And, from the feedback that I received, we were more willing to take that risk than other countries.

There was on statistic that is wroth mentioning. After the restrictions were put into affect, they tried to determine if people were complying and not traveling. The found good compliance, by using the Blue Tooth transmitters on the smart phones, everywhere but the Midwest planes where they were driving around thirty miles instead of the four to five miles. The statement was that people in the Midwest was not complying. But, in the states of Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, and Wyoming, it is like thirty miles from the ranch to the nearest town. For those that flyover these states, they simply do not understand the life in the Midwest.

So, since some people have stated that they enjoy my Journal Entry, I am going to continue to write it in to the future. It might not be everyday. I have started my own blog with the address: deflection.blog. You will find these Journal Entries there and other writings that I draft from time to time. As inexpensive and the blog is per year, I intend to keep it into the foreseeable future.
